Whispered by the wind and cradled by the moon, my soul walks the liminal spaces between worlds. Rivers call my name, their rushing waters singing the songs of ancient stones. Barefoot upon the earth, I weave spells with candlelight, dance beneath the moon, and tend sacred altars that echo with the whispers of Avalon. My heart beats in rhythm with the magic of a time long past—of healing witches, Merlin’s wisdom, and the breath of dragons. Step into my world, and perhaps you’ll remember yours.

“In the Circle of Three, we honor the past, connect with the present, and transform through the power of sacred healing.”

Love Actually is my favorite Christmas movie of all time and is a staple every Christmas. It is a timeless movie that captures the essence of this season. The opening sequence sees Hugh Grant’s character beautifully speak of the arrivals doors at Heathrow Airport. My eyes fill with tears and my heart swells with huge loving emotions because if you think about it there really is nothing but love waiting on either side of the arrival doors! Anger, discontentment, and global upsets all seem trivial and distant.

In 2021, as we were all navigating the fallout of the Covid pandemic that saw loved ones separated the year before, I eagerly awaited outside of the arrival doors for my youngest son at YYC, my gratitude overflowing at the thought of him home this holiday season, I couldn’t help but be thankful that he was able to make it home for the holidays. I was Standing amidst a sea of small groups of people. I stood quietly watching and witnessed the electric excitement, the palpable joy in the air. Every person was eagerly waiting for their loved ones to emerge from those arrival doors. Grandparents waiting for grandchildren, grandchildren waiting for grandparents, best friends, lovers, excited moms waiting for their college students! Hugs were exchanged, tears of happiness flowed freely, and all that filled the atmosphere was love. Strangers shared their anticipation of their longing to see their favorite people. It was a sight that touched my soul, reminding me that life is fleeting, and we need to cherish every single day as if it were an arrival door at the airport. As Hugh Grant’s character perfectly said, “Love Actually is all around us.”

Fast forward to 2023. December’s arrival this holiday season will take on a different hue. This year, my youngest son, who left for Eastern Canada For school in 2018 and has been fortunate to make his annual holiday pilgrimage every year, won’t be walking through those arrival doors this year. Instead, he will be the pilot. The one responsible for bringing college kids home for their first Christmas since leaving for school and those students that are making it once again, bringing excited grandparents to see their grandchildren, and reuniting lovers, friends, and siblings! He will be the catalyst, gently guiding the plane to the gate, reuniting families and loved ones once again for this joyous holiday. In this moment, he will be a part of that love “that is all around us.”

Let us immerse ourselves in the true spirit of Christmas, for it is not measured by the treasures found under the tree, but by the presence of those who surround it. It’s in the smiles exchanged, the genuine moments of connection, and the act of giving from the depths of our hearts. Whenever doubts about love’s existence creep in, I urge you to visit your nearest airport during the holidays. Observe each person walking through those arrival doors and witness the magic unfold. See the faces of those eagerly waiting, their anticipation etched on their expressions. Love is undeniably all around us.

For some like myself, this Christmas will be a first! Some will attempt to find love and gratitude even though their loved one won’t be coming home this year or any year. For those I hold loving space for their loss and I encourage them to keep that love by creating a new tradition that keeps their loved ones with them, whether it is the first or the 40th without them unconditional love is never gone. For some like myself, their college student is now a man and creating his own holiday traditions with his love along with a profession that takes him to the skies like Santa and his sleigh, I encourage those to embrace technology and set up a Zoom or FaceTime call and bring all their loved ones together! Eat together, laugh, and celebrate like they are there. Distance is no match for love!

So, let us embrace this season with open hearts, Our world at the moment needs all the high loving vibrations we can create by cherishing every moment and spreading love in any way we can. May the airport arrivals serve as a poignant reminder that love is the greatest gift we can give and receive. Together, let us create a world where the love “that is all around us” shines brightly, illuminating the path to a truly meaningful and joyous holiday season.
