Not many know in depth about the beautiful mystical magical and intriguing dream catchers. I remember the first time I saw a Dream Catcher. It was hanging in a quaint little store and spoke to me in a way I had not yet been familiar with. Years later it revisited me, showing me that these unique bohemian hangings have more to them than just enhancing the beauty of the room inwhich they are hanging in, they are powerful protectors and I fell in love with creating and birthing these beautiful powerful Magical Portals.  Connecting with the Great Goddess, also known as Asibikaashi, She shows me her divine power that will be used to protect the room in which it will hang.

In folklore people believed that dreams both good and bad descend from the night sky. The bad dreams were captured in a web and held there until the rays of the morning sun evaporated them. The soul dreams (good dreams), slipped through the web and softly flowed down a feather to the dreamer.

According to a famous story from the Ojibwa tribe, it is believed that a mysterious “spider woman” acted as a spiritual protector of their tribe, especially the young children and newborn babies. As the tribe flourished, the woman found it difficult to protect and watch over all the members, she created the dream catcher. Following her, many mothers and grandmothers recreated the hanging protector to mystically protect their children.

Each dream catcher is one of a kind and is hand crafted using various gifts presented to me. As I begin to weave the web, I connect with spirit and allow the catcher to reveal it, while infusing prayer for protection. Each one, after it is completed is smudged and then left for new moon blessings.

As The protection spell comes to me I begin to weave the dream catcher guided by the Great Goddess weaving in a Magical protection Prayer. Once she has been weaved and created she will bathe in the healing magic of Mother moon.

Each sacred moment I sit and create I am taken back to that moment in that quaint little store when my soul connected with the Dream Catcher.
