Lisa Brown

Whispered by the wind and cradled by the moon, my soul walks the liminal spaces between worlds. Rivers call my name, their rushing waters singing the songs of ancient stones. Barefoot upon the earth, I weave spells with candlelight, dance beneath the moon, and tend sacred altars that echo with the whispers of Avalon. My heart beats in rhythm with the magic of a time long past—of healing witches, Merlin’s wisdom, and the breath of dragons. Step into my world, and perhaps you’ll remember yours.

Gua Sha Massage

You are the most valuable investment you will ever make.

What is gua sha?

Embark on a journey of natural healing with the ancient art of Gua Sha, a remarkable and alternative therapy that will revitalize your body from within. This centuries-old Chinese technique offers a unique approach to achieving optimal health by addressing various ailments, including chronic pain, through the gentle scraping of your skin with a specialized massage tool. Prepare to be amazed as the wonders of Gua Sha unfold before your very eyes.

During your Gua Sha session, I delicately stimulate the microcirculation of your soft tissue using precise strokes, either short or long, that penetrate deep within your body, promoting a surge of rejuvenating blood flow. The instrument of choice for this exquisite experience is a smooth-edged gua massage tool, expertly gliding along your skin. Prior to the treatment, I lovingly apply a nourishing massage oil, ensuring a seamless and blissful encounter. With each careful stroke, your skin is gently scraped in a downward motion, as if caressed by the gentle hands of nature itself.

Gua Sha holds the power to address stagnant energy, referred to as chi, that resides within your body, potentially causing inflammation—an underlying culprit behind numerous conditions associated with chronic pain. By meticulously rubbing the surface of your skin, this profound technique aids in dissipating this trapped energy, alleviating inflammation, and paving the way for deep healing to take place.

The wonders of Gua Sha are not limited to a specific area of your body—its transformative touch can be experienced on your back, buttocks, neck, arms, and legs. In fact, it even extends to the face, where a gentle version of this technique is employed as a facial treatment, unveiling a newfound radiance. Throughout your session, I tailor the pressure to your unique needs, gradually intensifying to ascertain the ideal level of force that your body can gracefully embrace.

Allow Gua Sha to intertwine harmoniously with other holistic therapies, such as massage and cupping, for an extraordinary fusion of rejuvenation and restoration. Together, these modalities create a symphony of wellness, working in perfect harmony to bring you the ultimate state of bliss.

Prepare to embark on a transformative journey, where the ancient wisdom of Gua Sha meets the art of healing, leaving you refreshed, revitalized, and ready to embrace a life of vibrant well-being.

Gua sha is the practice of using a tool to apply pressure and scrape the skin to relieve pain and tension. This action causes light bruising, which often appears as purple or red spots known as petechiae or sha. The name gua sha — pronounced gwahshah — comes from the Chinese word for scraping.

Gua sha can reduce inflammation, so it’s often used to treat ailments that cause chronic pain, such as arthritis and fibromyalgia, as well as those that trigger muscle and joint pain.  Other areas that can benefit from Gua Shaw are chronic migraine headaches, perimenopause symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, fatigue and hot flashes, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, plantar fasciitis pain and more.

Gua Shaw is a natural remedy and is extremely safe for everyone.  It is not painful, even though it changes the colour of the skin due to the rupture of the small capillaries near the surface of the skin.

Please note if you are on blood thinning medications or have a clotting disorder this techniuqe is contraindicated.
